What are the Common Uses of Hydraulic Trim Presses
Hydraulic 4 post, also known as four column presses, have become important machines in industries such as Die Casting Industry, Forming Industry and Trimming Industry. There is a growing demand towards light-weight parts for Automotive, Aerospace, Hardware, Hand Tools, among others, which are serviced by the Die Casting, Sand Casting, Permanent Mold, Gravity Casting and other casting Industries. As well, the forming industry uses these presses for pressing, forming, gluing and cutting various materials.
Hydraulic Presses are machine presses that use a hydraulic pump and hydraulic oil to generate a consistent amount of pressure. This creates a force which is transferred through the hydraulic fluid to a large cylinder piston. The force is then transferred to a moving platen which can exert pressure on a wide variety of materials using tools, molds and dies which are placed between the moving platen and the bottom stationary platen.

How Does a Trim Press Work?
The generated pressure can be used to accomplish various tasks and processes. Our MetalPress hydraulic presses also feature center hydraulic ejection. Multi-side access enables easy die setup from all sides and permits a variety of feeding configurations. This allows easy integration into assembly lines or manufacturing work cells. The addition of our MetalPress mechanical 2 axis Press Unloader or a 6 axis robot can simplify the process of extraction and reduce reparative hand labor.
