HOW TO CLEAN INJECTION MOLD WATER LINES
A controlled workflow for flushing, pulsed cleaning, reverse flow, leak checks, drying, and verification without routine mold disassembly.

A CONTROLLED WORKFLOW FOR FLUSHING MOLD WATER LINES
To clean injection mold water lines, stop and isolate the molding machine, identify the circuits, record baseline flow and pressure, drain and connect the approved cleaning equipment, then run a controlled cycle appropriate to the mold material, seals, and deposit condition. Forward and reverse pulsed flow can help loosen deposits that one-direction hose flushing leaves behind. Finish with a rinse, the approved pressure or leak check, an air purge or blow-dry step, and a documented post-cleaning flow test.
The MDM automatic mold channel cleaner supports this in-place maintenance workflow while the mold remains installed; production must remain stopped and isolated throughout the procedure.

DIAGNOSE RESTRICTION BEFORE CHOOSING A CLEANING CYCLE
Reduced flow can come from scale, rust, sludge, debris, biological growth, kinked hoses, closed valves, damaged fittings, or a blocked manifold. Compare circuits under similar conditions and review pressure drop, temperature imbalance, and cycle-time changes. When the problem is equipment sizing or temperature regulation rather than contamination, use the injection molding application guide and the TCU pages instead of repeatedly cleaning the mold.
VERIFY FLOW BEFORE AND AFTER CLEANING
Use the same connection, fluid condition, valve position, and test pressure when comparing results. Record circuit identity, flow rate, pressure behavior, leakage result, cleaning duration, discharge condition, rinse completion, drying, and the release-to-production decision. The technical guide to cleaning mold cooling channels provides a fuller checklist.
Expert Advice
Treat cleaning as a measured maintenance process
Do not judge success only by the appearance of the discharged fluid. A repeatable before-and-after flow check, leak test, drying step, and maintenance record give the production team better evidence that the mold is ready to return to service.
